Physics Literacy for the 21st Century
Physics at Online G3 is a little bit different. Richard Muller, the author of our course books, describes physics as the “Liberal Arts of High Tech” and we agree! This semester-long high school course for students 12 and up (no previous science knowledge required!) is adapted from college level materials and combines foundational Physics concepts with public policy. Topics like energy use, global warming, terrorism, satellites, space exploration, and more have a surprisingly fundamental connection to physics concepts. Understanding physics, as Richard Muller writes, means “you will never again be intimidated by technological advances.” and combining these foundational ideas with the related policies is of growing importance not just for future leaders of our nation, but also for those who vote and put world leaders in power. Beyond that, online resources and labs allow interested students to dig even deeper into science topics than your average POTUS will ever need.
