The G3 Community
At G3, we believe that learning is a social endeavor. Gifted program students long for high-quality peer interaction in their classes and in their personal lives. All G3 classes include peer-to-peer learning opportunities, as well as access to moderated social discussion forums in our cooperative online community.
In live webinars, students are able to interact with fellow students before classes begin. Once class starts, students can continue to share their academic ideas with their classmates and teacher both in writing via the chat box and by raising their hands to request microphone access.
Outside of webinars, students interact in their classrooms by responding to questions in the written discussion forums. Some assignments may invite students to share their creative projects or Voicethread presentations for peer feedback as well.
When students aren’t busy attending webinars or completing “homefun” assignments in each gifted program course, they can be found on the social forums, posting on a variety of topics, such as Minecraft, Legos, board games, art, and more! A longtime favorite forum is “Continue the Story,” where students collaboratively write works of fiction and design original characters.
