Shakespeare and Chaucer
Two semesters of Shakespeare can be taken together to form a full year study of Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets. Comedies are recommended before tragedies, but classes may be taken out of order. Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales can be taken at any time, but prior study of Shakespeare is recommended. In these classes, students read unabridged, original text versions of Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets. Students must be strong readers and have previous literary analysis experience to succeed.
