Michael Clay Thompson’s Grammar Town and Caesar’s English I from Royal Fireworks Press, adapted to fit the needs of modern gifted learners. This is a year-long language arts online course condensed into a single semester. Weekly webinars are 50 minutes long. Recordings are available for students who must miss a session.
Students will:
- study parts of speech, sentence structure, phrases and clauses through videos and stories
- practice with exciting games and activities
- learn Michael Clay Thompson’s 4-level sentence labeling system
- study word roots and vocabulary in the context of great literature
- write stories with new vocabulary words
- participate in live webinars
Required books:
- Grammar Town Student Book by Michael Clay Thompson
- Caesar’s English 1 Student Book by Michael Clay Thompson
Any student edition of the above texts can be used. The books are read in order from front to back, and reading assignments are posted by chapter and topic, not page number, so formatting changes between editions will not affect readability.
